Too many households fall into a difficult gap – earning too much to qualify for federal assistance, but not enough to consistently afford essentials, like nutritious meals.

Nearly 4 in 10 local students face food insecurity, arriving at school distracted by hunger and stress instead of ready to learn.

These challenges have real consequences. Students experiencing economic hardship score, on average, 20% lower on tests than their peers.
